I was wondering if the cameras on the Colbert Report could broadcast in a higher definition like 720p or 1080p, because on a big tv, it is very low definition, something like 480i? Thats like my camcorder.... PLEASE, producers!

It really wouldn't matter to me. I mean, its one thing on shows with all kinds of special effects, but for a show like TCR, who really cares if if you can make out each individual hair on somebody's head? Also, as mentioned above, HD filming and broadcasting is significantly more expensive. Popular as it may be, a basic cable show doesn't exactly have an unlimited supply of cash, and there are other places I'd rather see that money go (raise for writers, anyone?) Add to that, I've heard a lot of people on news shows and the like don't like being in HD, the higher detail means they need to wear much heavier makeup.

I'm sure the Fangirls would enjoy counting every single hair in Stephens eyebrows, then arguing about the total to prove who is in love with him more.
