If its worth anything, the odds that I'll ever be in position to perform the prerequisite acts for procreation have been questioned on more than one occasion. |
Good.
Anyway, one of these morons is actually a serious presidential contender! WTF????

As long as the theistically challenged do not deny the evidence of gods creation by ignoring the physical evidence of the nature of the world around them, then meh, live and let live.

Figured this would fit in more here than in PD or OT.

Survey: 61 Percent Agree with Evolution
Americans would rather hear about evolution from scientists than from judges or celebrities, according to a new survey that finds a majority agree that evolution is at work among living things.

Studies in the field of psychology show that people are FAR MORE LIKELY to believe someone wearing a lab coat than someone...uhm, not wearing a lab coat - all else being equal.
That is all.

Education is the key. I would have been one of those kids that you would have looked at cross-eyed in school. I had been thoroughly indoctrinated in the same religious dogma that Huckabee is spouting. I made straight A's in school, I also made high marks in Sunday School, as well. I laughed at our science teacher, in the 6th grade when she asked "What came first, the chicken or the egg?". I told her that the Bible said that God created the fowl.. it didn't mention that he dropped a few eggs around and watched to see what would happen. Unfortunately, the rest of the class were making out or playing fart games or something...
Anyway, I say this to let you know that there is hope ... don't throw away the kids... teach, teach them well...

Alice,
Some of that has to stick with you.. doesn't it?
My mom was [more or less (<-- big story)] raised by her Grandfather who was a Pentecostal minister.
She married an Atheist and had kids (:Me; et al) whom she raised with an open philosophy...
But it's compelling, when looked at from a distance... from a clear voice spoken selectively and rarely...
How much distance can you manage without turning your back altogether?
btw, have I ever mentioned I'm 1/4 Texan? (lol)
