John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Laura Nyro, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Freddie Mercury, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix...all had incredible talent and a huge influence on music, all died tragically before their time.
Avril Lavigne, The Pussycat Dolls, Simple Plan, Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Nickelback, Pink, Good Charlotte, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Clay Aiken, Ashlee Simpson, Paris Hilton...all no-talent skanks/douchebags, all alive and well (for the most part).

Also, as many a Lennon/Beatles fan like to bring up - why wasn't Ono shot? She was with Lennon when it happened. What a world, what a world.
But the second list of people you mentioned are all still young. They might all die soon. We can only hope.
